Noticed that games that were fine seem to struggle a bit in recent days. L4D especially.

somethings not right. It's the exact same 3Dmark test and it's the exact same hardware as in March

It's dual processor so wonder if one isn't pulling its weight

I've been having troubles with fps too, maybe you're onto something with the whole hot blond twin thing. Don't forget hoovering dustbunnies neither or you'll end up with an extra carpet. ![]()

lol pissed all over March 08 aswell. I could see while the test was running that it was considerably better than yesterday but didn't know it was going to beat the previous best by about 2000

quick bout of l4d and within a couple of minutes it's slideshow city again. run test again and back down to 8200.... possible overheating issues. I shall check and perform a system clean up

Maybe L4D is leaking memory all over the place.
Do you still want me to post my upgrade costs?
Offline
There was much dust caking the CPU possibly causing problems. I noticed WoW was not performing as well as usual and that doesn't tax my machine. I'm doing a disk cleanup then a defrag now. I just ran the 3Dmark test again and it's back up to nearly 15,000.
Yeah I did wonder if you'd looked into them. Be interesting to see how much an upgrade would cost. The only bad thing is Clare has my old machine and it is too old to use any parts I replace in this one so they'd have to be binned or stored.
Cheers ![]()
